Pranayama - Breath Awareness

Pranayama is foundational to a well-rounded yoga practice and has profound benefits: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Discover the power that flows and how to channel it for specific needs, time of day or year, and intentions.

Deepen your breath and build life-force energy for yourself!

Students have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of prana and the subtle bqody, to teach the different Pranayama techniques and to develop their own way of expressing their experience and understanding of prana.

You will learn:

  • Understand Ujjayi breath in asana - YES! there will be some basic asana practices in addition to lecture and breath practices!
  •  7 pranayama practices: their benefits and  how to teach them
  • The 5 components of Life Force Energy: location, function, and action
  • Understand the bandhas in both asana practices and pranayama

Who should attend?

  • Open to all students and teachers of yoga wishing to expand breath awareness particularly as it connects to an asana practice; as well as those interested in complementing their asana practice with a seated meditation practice. You do not need to be experienced in either asana or seated meditation in order to attend!
  • Learn the practices for yourself to better teach the practices to others.
  • Counts toward Anusara's 300-Hour Teacher Training and for 24 CEU hours with Yoga Alliance.

As a master energy healer, I honor the power of the breath as one of the most important tools for well-being. 

In Sanskrit, prana means “life-force”; in contemporary Hindi it means the “breath of life.” Like “qi” in the Oriental tradition and in martial arts, prana refers to the cosmic energy that connects all the elements of the universe. An English word that captures the concept of prana is “aliveness.”

Refund Policy

By signing the Credit Card Authorization form you give Tiffany Wood Yoga permission to charge your card for the balance 30 days prior to retreat start. If, in case of payment by wire transfer or check the same payment schedule applies.

Please note our cancellation policy:

  • If you cancel 60 days or more before the event start date, you will be refunded 80% of your registration fee.
  • If you cancel 15 to 59 days before the event start date, you will be refunded 50% of your registration fee.
  • If you cancel within 14 days or less from event start date, you forfeit the entire deposit registration fee.
  • Alternatively, you can apply 100% of your registration fee towards a future Tiffany Wood Yoga retreat if you cancel 15 days or more before the event start date.
