Meditation: Deepen your connection to peace and stability

From the beginning and until the second half of the 20th century, the main practice of yoga was meditation. Meditation is to sit with eyes closed and take the journey to, what in Tantra is known as the “Heart”, in Vedanta is known as the atman or inner Self, and in Classical Yoga is known as the Purusha or pure awareness.

Today, most yogis begin yoga with the asana practice, and asana practice remains the main practice of Anusara® Yoga. A regular asana practice often leads to an interest in meditation, and our asana practice supports meditation in many ways. At the same time, meditation is a wonderful complement and support for our hatha yoga practice, and for many asana practitioners, the meditation practice becomes the central pillar of their sadhana.

You will learn: 

  • Introduction, theory, and benefits  
  • How to practice meditation 
  • Relationship of meditation to the other components of a yoga practice
  • 3-step template  called "Creating Space for Meditation"
  • 4-step template for teaching meditation
  • How theme creates meditation dharana

Who should attend?

  • Open to all students and teachers of yoga wishing to expand breath awareness particularly as it connects to an asana practice; as well as those interested in complementing their asana practice with a seated meditation practice. You do not need to be experienced in either asana or seated meditation in order to attend!
  • Learn the practices for yourself to better teach the practices to others.
  • Counts toward Anusara's 300-Hour Teacher Training and for 12 CEU hours with Yoga Alliance.

Refund Policy

By signing the Credit Card Authorization form you give Tiffany Wood Yoga permission to charge your card for the balance 30 days prior to retreat start. If, in case of payment by wire transfer or check the same payment schedule applies.

Please note our cancellation policy:

  • If you cancel 60 days or more before the event start date, you will be refunded 80% of your registration fee.
  • If you cancel 15 to 59 days before the event start date, you will be refunded 50% of your registration fee.
  • If you cancel within 14 days or less from event start date, you forfeit the entire deposit registration fee.
  • Alternatively, you can apply 100% of your registration fee towards a future Tiffany Wood Yoga retreat if you cancel 15 days or more before the event start date.
