The Yoga Confessional!

I Hear You Loud and Clear

"Bless you my child, that will be 10 Sun Salutations."  This is my light-hearted reply to the dozens of 'yoga confessionals' I hear every week. You know what I'm talking about... that moment when you see your yoga teacher at the grocery store and you find yourself spontaneously fessing up to why you haven't been able to make it to your mat. I am intimately familiar with how long the list of distractions can be and I want you to know that you are not alone. Anyone who has given yoga a fair chance knows how amazing they feel and how beautiful their life flows when they do find their mat. We just come up against the struggle of finding the time to make it happen in the throws of real-time daily living.

So here's what I would say if you really wanted the full-fledged, ruthlessly compassionate truth from your yoga confessional. I love you. I adore you.  AND...

I know how much you want to live in ease and grace, because that is something every single one of us desires. I am here for you, as is every other yoga teacher you love, multiple times a week.  So, pick one day/evening and commit to it. When someone asks you to go out for a night of well deserved debauchery, ask them if you can do it on Tuesday because Monday is your yoga night.  Give yourself the consistency of remembering your sweet essential nature just once a week and watch how your life opens in mysterious ways. Committing to one class a week for several weeks in a row will really allow you to see just how much your practice really does make a profound difference in how you feel and how you engage life from a place of greater awareness. If you miss a week, no big deal, don't 'should' on yourself and give up because you just proved how you don't have time for yoga. It's possible that you do have time for everything you WANT to do. Read my article on 'Finding Balance' and rewrite the story that holds you back from showing up for yourself.

For those of you who have already mastered the weekly yoga practice and are meeting me in the grocery store aisle and confessing that you really want to deepen your practice and really embrace yoga as a lifestyle, but you just can't carve out THAT much time due to this real life circumstance or that real life event, I hear you as well!

For both types of 'yoga confessionees,' I have created a plethora of bite-sized mini-workshops and special public asana classes just for you! Because I am interested in your personal progression and growth, there are so many options for your to step into your practice that something will hopefully speak to your heart, encourage you to commit to your own progression and come play with me!

Try this: Look at the special mini-workshops and special asana classes offered in June. Mark what interests you on your calendar and commit to showing up for yourself! It is a discipline that will pay off. Schedule your personal growth and play time first, and then schedule all the rest.  When you do that, you will find the ease and grace you are looking for in your life. When you schedule your 'ME' time first and then allow the rest of the calendar to fill in from there, you will be stunned at how you will take on your life from the place of "Wow! This is so freakin' cool, I can't believe I'm this blessed." (Look for the many mini-workshops & special asana classes coming up in July & August too.)

I'm always here for you, doing what I do best. I'm deepening the conversation of yoga and whether or not I see you this month or in the next six months, I love you, I adore you, and I can't wait to see you!!!!

Love, Tiff
